Shipping a Firearm

Shipping a Firearm to Louthan Gunworks is relatively simple.  An individual can ship directly to us for repair or customization work and have it shipped directly back to you (depending on specific state laws). 

Long Guns

Rifles and Shotguns can be shipped by an individual to our facility using any of the major carriers; USPS, UPS, FedEx.  Firearm should be unloaded and packaged in an unmarked box with plenty of packing material to not allow the firearm to rattle or move, please do not send gun cases.  Due to limited storage at our facility, gun cases and original boxes may not be returned.  No ammunition should be included in the box.  

Handguns

A handgun can only be shipped by a non-licensee via, UPS and FedEx.  USPS will not allow a non-licensee to ship a handgun.  Again, place the unloaded firearm in an unmarked box with plenty of packing material to not allow the firearm to rattle or move.  Please no gun cases.  Due to limited storage at our facility, gun cases and original boxes may not be returned.

When a Firearm comes to Louthan Gunworks for repair or customization, we are allowed to ship the firearm directly back to you as long as you are the owner of the firearm.  If you ship via FFL, we must ship the firearm back to the shipping FFL upon completion of work.  

Please include a copy of the LG Work Order (download below) in the box with the Firearm, and ship to:
